PURPOSE:To improve braking performance and to reduce a select shock by disposing a stator clutch between a stator and a fixed shaft, racing the stator to the fixed shaft in response to a brake operation signal. CONSTITUTION:A stator clutch 7 is disposed between a stator 6 and a fixed shaft 8, and a stator clutch 7 is disengaged in response to a brake operation signal to race the stator 6 to the fixed shaft 8. Thus, at the time of speed reduction and stop by operation of a brake, torque increasing function of a torque converter by the stator 6 can be removed to improve braking performance, reduce a select shock and decrease fuel consumption. |
