PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive material having particularly improved colorability, sensitivity and fogging by incorporating a specific polymer coupler for forming a magenta color into a silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer of the magenta coupler expressed by the formula I (R1 is H, lower alkyl of 1-4C or Cl, R2 is alkylene, arylene or aralkylene, J is a bivalent combination group, n is 0 or 1, R4 is anilino, acylamino or ureide, R5 is alkyl, aryl or heterocycle), for example, a copolymer of the magenta coupler monomer expressed by the formula II and the other monomer such as acrylate or the like is produced. Such polymer coupler is dissolved in a solvent and the photosensitive material having the photosensitive layer dispersed with such soln. in a silver halide emulsion is obtd. The photosensitive material contg. the novel magenta coupler without generating fogging and staining is thus obtd. at a high yield. |
