摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To reduce the curl of the magnetic recording medium and to improve the advantage and compatibility of system design because of less difference in recording density characteristics between the 1st and the 2nd magnetic recording layers by compensating the difference in recording density due to the difference in film thickness between both layers. CONSTITUTION:The coercive force Hc1 of the 1st magnetic recording layer 11 with large film thickness delta1 is set larger than the coercive force Hc2 of the 2nd magnetic recording layer 12 with small film thickness delta2. When the film thicknesses delta are constant, D3>D4, where D3 and D4 are recording densities corresponding to the coercive forces Hc1 and Hc2, and this relation is combined with the relation D1<D2 between recording densities corresponding to the film thicknesses delta1 and delta2 of the 1st and the 2nd recording densities to compensate the difference in recording density between the 1st and the 2nd magnetic recording layers 11 and 12 due to the difference in film thickness delta.</p>
