MOLYBDENUM SALT SOLUBLE IN HYDROCARBON

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled salt which is stable and also dissolved in a hydrocarbon medium uniformly by heating ammonium molybdate and hydrocarbon carboxylic acid under the presence of organic amine and allowing to react with each other. CONSTITUTION:Ammonium molybdate (A) and 4-30C hydrocarbon carboxylic acid (B) (for example, caproic acid and naphthenic acid) are heated under the presence of about 0.05-1mol times organic amine (C) (for example, dibutylamine and benzylamine) per the carboxylic acid at about 150-250 deg.C for 2-10hr and allowed to react with each other to produce molybdenum salt soluble in hydrocarbon (papable of containing about 6wt% molybdenum) which consists of a complex salt of molybdenum and the hydrocarbon carboxylic acid and the organic amine. Said soluble salt is useful as a catalyst in case of manufacturing an epoxy compound by allowing organic hydroperoxide to react with an olefin organic compound. (An epoxy compound can be obtained with high selectivity and high yield.)
