PURPOSE:To improve the combustion temperature distribution with respect to the combustion posture of an inclined state or a perpendicular state by providing a fuel gas nozzle at a position opposing a catalytic layer at the upper part thereof, and providing a checking member at the lower part of the fuel gas nozzle. CONSTITUTION:The combustion gas nozzle 10 of a catalytic burner in which a catalyst layer 4 is positioned in a perpendicular state, is positioned in a range within 30% the perpendicular dimension of the catalyst layer 4. One projection 11 convering both ends in the horizontal direction of a fuel gas diffusion chamber 3 is provided at the lower part of the nozzle 10. Since this projection 11 occupies more than 50% the depth of the fuel gas diffusion chamber, the fuel gas flowing out of the fuel gas nozzle 10 is prevented from partially diffusing downwardly. Accordingly, the supply quantity of the fuel gas is made uniform and the combustion temperature distribution is improved in the catalyst layer 4. |
