PURPOSE:To improve considerably the handling performance of an electronic computer by designating a desired character for spelling of an instruction and displaying and selecting the instructions beginning from the designated character. CONSTITUTION:A computer main body 1 is provided with a display 2, a key input part 3, a power supply, a mode selection switch 4, etc. The part 2 consists of a liquid crystal matrix containing the display capacity of 24 digits and two stages. Here keys 3-1 and then 3-6 are operated to display alphabetically the names of instructions. Then the following names of instructions are displayed with push of a key 3-2. A desired instruction name is displayed by a cursor with push of a key 3-5, and the application examples of the desired instruction name are displayed with push of a key 3-7.
