PURPOSE:To lengthen a life span of a torque converter, by a method wherein a governor for regulating a speed is installed to a starting power source, and the output of the starting power source is controlled with the progress of the starting process of a gas turbine. CONSTITUTION:A governor 1h for regulating a speed is installed to a starting power source 1, and is coupled directly with a gas turbine 5 and a generator 6 through a torque converter 2, a claw type separating clutch 3, and an auxiliary driving gear device 4. By controlling electromagnetic valves 1e and 1f through the supply of control oil to a hydraulic cylinder 1g, the governor 1h for regulating a speed is driven to a given position with the progress of the starting process of the gas turbine 5, and the speed and output of the starting power source 1 are controlled. In this way, the unloading of a torque converter can be eliminated and the life span of the parts of a torque converter can be lengthened. |
