PURPOSE:To stabilize performance and reduce cost of a storage battery by using a positive active material comprising a mixture of polymer compound having carbonyl group and carbon, and using sulfuric acid solution as electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:Nylon 6 is dissolved in formic acid, and carbon powder is added to this solution as it is stirred. This carbon dispersion is spreaded on a platinum plate or carbon fiber cloths 1 and 5 and formic acid is removed by natural evaporation to form a mixed film of nylon 6 and carbon powder on the platinum plate or carbon fiber cloths 1 and 5. By this process, two electrode plates are manufactured. Two electrodes are faced and a glass filter paper 3 impregnated with 1N sulfuric acid solution is interposed between the electrodes to form a storage battery. By producing electrode by adding carbon powder to give conductivity to general purpose polymer such as nylon 6, performance is stabilized, and by using sulfuric acid, cost is reduced. |
