PURPOSE:To enhance electrostatic charge generation efficiency and photosensitivity by using a specified polymer as a binder resin for the charge transfer layer of a photosensitive body obtained by successively laminating a charge generating layer and said charge transfer layer on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:A charge generating layer (CGL) and a charge transfer layer (CTL) are laminated in succession on a conductive substrate to form a photosensitive body, and a polymer used for binding a photoconductor in CGL has structural units each represented by the formula shown here in which X, Z are each F, Cl, Br, or I. As the photoconductor to be added to CGM, an org. material, such as copper phthalocyanine, is preferably used. The formation of CGL of such a structure improves flatness or planeness, and also the flatness of the finished photosensitive body, and permits a photosensitive body good charge generating efficiency and high in sensitivity to be obtained and favorably used for the Carlson method. |
