PURPOSE:To prevent the separation of ink ribbon from the upper end of thermal head, by a method wherein ink is transferred onto a recording paper by heating with a heating element and the overhang controlling the shifting in the width direction of ink ribbon is provided to the upper part of thermal head. CONSTITUTION:The heat transfer recorder is composed of the thermal head 6 consisting of a thermal head tip 5 and a radiating plate 6b, an ink ribbon 3, an ink ribbon supply reel, a winding reel, recording paper and a platen 1. The overhang 5b having a length of not less than l1 the thickness of base 5a, of the degree that the thermal head does not contact the platen when moved for recording, is provided by a suitable thickness of l2 to the upper end of thermal head tip 5. The ink ribbon 3 is prevented to be separated from the upper end by this overhang 5b when the thermal head 6 is moved and the recording results can be prevented from partial missing by calibration. |
