<p>A hinged door arrangement for a pressurised aircraft fuselage including abutments secured to the door for co- operating with corresponding abutments on the door frame when the door is in its closed position to react pressure loads which tend to urge the door outwardly. The door is mounted adjacent to its lower boundary for hinging movement about a hinge axis (14) between an open and closed position and means (15, 16) are provided for shifting said hinge axis transversely to effect engagement and disengagement of the abutment means. The actuating mechanism is housed principally on the aircraft fixed structure and thus the door element may be of relatively simple construction. <IMAGE></p> |
