The upper frame comprises part groove-shaped cross piece (2) which reinforces the mechanical connection, and which apart from two side wall parts (3,5) comprises an intermediary part (5). This latter part has a number of holes (8) through which the end parts of grid rods are inserted. The frame also has a current conductor plate which with projecting components engages in the cross piece (2) interior and secures the grid rods through holes (8) in the intermediary part end section with the aid of welding. - The current conductor plate is joined to the groove-shaped cross piece (2) using high frequency induction welding. The cross piece (2) has projecting sock-shaped components (10) of integral construction with it and having several holes (8). These components each secure a tube casing to form a gap between the inside of the casing and the outside of the grid rods. This gap is filled with an active substance.
