PURPOSE:To decrease the frequency of handling of an original and to take a both-surface copy efficiently by arranging the 1st and the 2nd originals on an original exposure table successively. CONSTITUTION:A scanning optical system 5 is moved to right to exposure the 2nd surface B and the 1st surface A of a book original, and two continuous electrostatic latent images are formed on a photosensitive body 2 and visualized by a developing device 12 by running the photosensitive body 2 as shown by an arrow (a). Transfer paper is sent out of a feed paper stack table 15 to a transfer device 14 and the toner image of the surface A is transferred to one surface; and the transfer paper is sent to an inverting and guiding part 18 and the toner image is fixed by a fixing device 19. The photosensitive body 2 is further run as shown by the arrow (a) to move the toner image of the surface B to the underpass part of the photosensitive body 2. The photosensitive body 2 is run as shown by an arrow (b) and the transfer paper is sent to the transfer device 14 in the opposite direction to transfer the toner image of the surface B to the other surface of the transfer paper. This transfer paper is sent to the fixing device 19 again and discharged to a paper discharge tray 22 after fixing operation.
