To simplify and accelerate the program selection capabilities and program release mechanisms used, which are needed for the sequence of different predetermined programs, especially in self-service machines, goods dispensers and apparatuses, the polygonal or round selection input disk, characterised on the sides and tangents, is formed by preparation on one side or in the area of one side, side half, tangent, tangent half of a selection-determining and a selection-triggering part. The program selection is incorporated in the identification of the sides or tangents in the selection input disk. The individual predetermined programs are determined and triggered in the associated selection receiving housing adapted to the selection input disk, by selective coincidence of the conductive material incorporated in the selection input disk with the maintenance contact or maintenance mechanism arranged in the selection receiving housing and connecting through the program. The selection input disk with a preparation on one side half or tangent half has the advantage that, by using the top and the underside, double the number of program sequences in comparison with a selection input disk prepared on one side or tangent can be achieved.
