<p>PURPOSE:To reduce curls of a sheet efficiently after discharge and to improve transfer and separation during both-surface printing operation by varying the effective operation width of a vapor flow passage near a recording member (sheet) discharge side according to the size of the sheet. CONSTITUTION:The sheet 9 has its reverse surface exposed to vapor passed through the vapor flow passage 167 right after exiting from a discharge roll 17 to correct its curl. A louver 171 is on the flow passage 167 while energized by a plunger 170 through a wire 175 against the elasticity of a closing spring 172. Plungers 170-1-170-4 are controlled with the sheet size signal from the sheet storage cassette loaded in the device to open the flow passage to the width corresponding to the sheet width. Consequently, no unnecessary vapor is discharged from a flow passage 167-4 positioned at the outside of the sheet 9.</p> |
