PURPOSE:To provide an acrylic coating material useful as a film former of a paint, especially as a film former of a final coating paint for an automobile, a vehicle of an ink and an adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A desired acrylic coating material is obtained by copolymerizing 4-80pts.wt. of phenyl acrylate and/or phenyl methacrylate and 20-96ppts.wt. copolymerizable monomer other than the above-mentioned monomer, preferably a monomer mixture containing 4-40wt.% of a hydroxyl group-containing mono mer (e.g., acrylic or fumaric acid).
