4-Phenylamino-8-substd. quinolines of formula (I) and their acid-addn. salts are new: (X is CF3 or halogen; Z is H, halo, NO2, CF3, di-(1-4C)-alkylamino, 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy; R is (NR2R3)-1-piperidino, -NR1-A-NR2R3 or R1 is H or 1-4C alkyl; R2 and R3 are 1-4C alkyl; and A is 1-4C alkylene). (I) are analgesic and anti-inflammatory agents.
