PURPOSE:To prepare an air cleaner element having a uniform filter pore size in the ridge, valley and flat parts thereof, by supplying a resin powder to a filter material formed into a crysanthemum like ring body by creasing while sucking the said resin powder to adhere the same thereto so as to reach the interior of each filter pore before curing the resin under heating. CONSTITUTION:A filter material is formed into a crysanthemum shape by creasing and the end parts thereof are sealed while end plates are secured to both ends by an adhesive to form a crysanthemum like ring body. This ring body is received in a resin supply apparatus 21 in a hermetical state and a fine thermoplastic resin powder is sprayed from plural nozzles 24 provided to the peripheral wall of said apparatus 21 while sucked by a suction apparatus 25. The resin powder is flowed to the ridge part and the valley part of the filter material, where a filter pore size becomes large and air passing resistance is low, at first and adhered to both parts but is not adhered to a place having a small filter pore size. When air passing resistance increases to a predetermined value, sucking is stopped and the ring body is put in a heating apparatus to melt the resin powder and the filter pore size of the whole of the filter body is made uniform.
