<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a film which can be irradiated with radiation without causing the emission of ill odor and is suitable for food or medical supplies, by kneading a specific inorganic hydroxide to an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer or a blend polymer composed mainly of said copolymer, and forming the kneaded composition. CONSTITUTION:An inorganic hydroxide such as magnesium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, etc. is kneaded in an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin or a blend polymer composed mainly of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, and the mixture is formed in the form of a film. The amount of the inorganic hydroxide is 0.001-40wt% of the copolymer; however, 0.005-1wt% calcium hydroxide is sufficient for the purpose under the radiation dose for practical sterilization. There is not remakable change in the physical properties of the resin, e.g. heat- sealability, etc.</p> |
