PURPOSE:To treat efficiently the surface of a material to be treated such as a thin sheet material or the like by disposing a contact plate to the inside circumferential surface of a barrel and feeding electricity thereto from a current collecting plate provided to the side plate of the barrel. CONSTITUTION:An annular or disc-shaped current collecting plate 4 is integrally provided to the outside side face of a barrel end plate 1b. A contact plate 5 is disposed along reinforcing rods 2 to the inside circumferential surface of a barrel cylinder part and electricity is conducted through the rods 2 from the plate 4 to the plate 5. Bushings 8 contacting with the plate 4 are provided to a barrel frame 7. The bushings 8 are protrusively provided directly to the frame 7 or to the brackets 9 provided to the frame 7 and feed electricity to the turning barrel body through the top end faces of the bushings 8 which are brought into contact with the surface of the plate 4 under a required pressure. Since the projection of lead wires into the barrel is obviated by such constitution, the generation of a defective product owing to scorching by sparking, denting, etc. of the material to be treated is eliminated.
