PURPOSE:To confirm the normality of operation of an opposite facsimile equipment by executing the designated test function according to a predetermined procedure. CONSTITUTION:The opposite facsimile equipment desired to be connected is called from a telephone set 32 connected to a telephone network interface section 20. When the connection is finished, test item (e.g., normal test, attribute converting test, procedure signal forced retransmission test, time filler test or the like) identification information is inputted from an operating section 29. Then the inputted test item is decoded by the control of a microprocessor MPU25 and the MPU25 executes the test according to the content. Thus, the normality of the opposite facsimile equipment is confirmed.
