PURPOSE:To raise the efficiency of printing by displaying letters of styles to be hardly taken up on CRT in easily legible styles of MINCHO, Gothic, etc. CONSTITUTION:Indication of false letters is sent out from an input unit 26, the co-ordinate data of letters in the pick-up position of the letter board are detected by a co-ordinate detector (x) and a co-ordinate detector (y) and sent out as the letter code of a housing address to a false letter board generator 30. The letter code for 3X7 rows for example is obtained at the center and its surronding as letters at the pick-up position, corresponding letter pattern is read out of CG31 and sent out to a refresh memory 33 in the order of letter boards. The letter pattern 37 of pick-up position is mainly displayed on a part of CRT35, a frame 39 to show the pick-up position is displayed, and letters to be printed are taken and displayed on the printing position to be shown a cursor 36. A shutter 12 is driven and the letters 41 of styles housed in the letter board are printed on a sensitive material 17.
