PURPOSE:A thermal energy storage agent composition, containing sodium sulfate decahydrate or a eutectic salt thereof and asphalt, and having improved thermal energy storage performance and improved durability. CONSTITUTION:A thermal energy storage agent composition obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. sodium sulfate decahydrate or a eutectic salt thereof with (B) usually 5-500pts.wt. asphalt having preferably >=50 deg.C softening temperature (measured by JIS K2531), e.g. petroleum asphalt such as straight asphalt or blown asphalt or natural asphalt. The above-mentioned composition is preferably prepared by emulsifying asphalt in an aqueous medium, and mixing the resultant emulsion with a composition consisting of the sodium sulfate, water and if necessary a nucleating agent and a thickening agent. USE:Wall materials, flooring materials, etc. in passive solar house systems. |
