PURPOSE:A thermal energy storage agent composition, consisting of sodium sulfate, a nucleating agent and a thickening agent consisting of a water-soluble resin having hydrophilic groups, capable of holding high thermal energy storing performance for a long period, and having improved durability. CONSTITUTION:A thermal energy storage agent composition consisting of (A) 100pts.wt. sodium sulfate, (B) 130-190pts.wt. water, (C) usually 3-50pts.wt. nucleating agent (preferred examples; borax, lithium borate tetrahydrate, ammonium borate tetrahydrate and potassium carbonate) and (D) usually 3-30pts. wt. thickening agent consisting of a water-soluble resin (preferred examples; sodium polyacrylate and potassium polyacrylate) having hydrophilic groups. USE:A thermal energy storage material for wall materials, flooring materials and trombe walls in passive solar house systems and auxiliary heaters by heat collection with heat pipes and heat pumps and utilization of waste heat. |
