The invention relates to a device intended to prevent the application of excessive stress to the spring drive motor of a window blind. This device comprises a fixed rod 15, around which a tube 13 containing a spring drive motor 25 linked to the fixed rod can turn. A tube sleeve 29 can move in an axial direction along the rod and is linked to the spring drive motor. A coupling 27 links the sleeve to the tube so as to release the sleeve of the tube to prevent the application of excessive stress to the spring drive motor when the sleeve tube is moved in a first direction along the rod, while turning with the tube, up to a certain point.
