Process for dehydrating a gas containing hydrocarbons by permeation through a membrane exhibiting a methane permeability of at least 10<-5> cm<3>/cm<2> s cm Hg and a selectivity factor for water in relation to methane higher than approximately 100, in which the membrane 4 consists of a bundle of hollow fibres open at both ends, with an internal diameter of between 0.1 mm and 0.5 mm and a thickness of between 0.05 mm and 0.3 mm, the thickness of the single active layer being smaller than 1 mu m, which fibres are traversed from the outside inwards by the gas fraction which permeates. <IMAGE>
