PURPOSE:To speed up heat conduction and produce high quality oil consistently and quickly with good yield, by performing thermal cracking of granulated org. sludge at a relatively low temp. CONSTITUTION:Dehydrated organic sludge is sent from a dehydrated sludge storage tank 11 into a granurator 12 for granulation. The granulated sludge is dried thoroughly in a drier 13 and is led into a thermal cracking oven 14 kept at about 150-450 deg.C for thermal cracking to produce a small amt. of incombustible gas and large amts. of oil and char. The incombustible gas is passed through a waste gas disposal process 15, the oil is stored in an oil storage tank 16 for recovery of energy and the char is burned to ash in an incinerator 17 for utilization as heat source for the drier 13 and the thermal cracking oven 14. As compared with conventional heat treatment at a relatively high temp., yield of oil is increased to more than three times and yield of gas which is incombustible is reduced to less than one half. In addition, the granulation speeds up heat conduction and uniform thermal cracking and impurity-free high quality oil is produced.
