PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as an intermediate of pharmaceuticals, etc., easily, in high yield, in a short time, by reacting a specific aliphatic di(haloacyl) peroxide with benzene, monosubstituted benzene, naphthalene or monosubstituted naphthalene. CONSTITUTION:The titled compound having X(CF2)n- group on benzene ring or naphthalene ring and useful also as an intermediate of agricultural chemicals, water and oil repellent, etc., is produced economically in an industrial scale, by reacting (A) the compound of formula (X is F, Cl or H; n is integer of 1-10) with (B) benzene, monosubstituted benzene, naphthalene or monosubstituted naphthalene, preferably monosubstituted benzene wherein the substituent group is halogen, alkyl, NO2, ester or alkoxy, or monosubstituted naphthalene wherein the substituent group is halogen, usually at 0-50 deg.C, preferably at 20-40 deg.C. The charged molar ratio of A:B is preferably 1:(2-10), especially 1:(4-7).
