PURPOSE:To eliminate unevenness in thickness of a bulb while enabling ring shaping of a bulb to be carried out more quickly by increasing the peripheral speed of a winding drum more than the traveling speed of a movable chuck. CONSTITUTION:A heated and softened bulb (a) is placed on a pair of bulb supporting axes 4 and 5. Then the chuck 19 of a winding drum 14 chucks the neck part of one end of the bulb (a), while the clicks 22 and 23 of a movable chuck 20 close to chuck the neck part of the other end of the bulb. When a motor starts to rotate in the direction of the arrow A1, the winding drum rotates in the direction of the arrow A2, while the movable chuck starts to travel in the direction of the arrow B in order to wind up the softened bulb (a) on the outer circumference of the winding drum for shaping. Peripheral speed of the winding drum is larger than the speed of the movable chuck so as to wind up the bulb (a) while extending it, thus preventing generation of drooping of the bulb in the winding process and creases on the side of the ring inner circumference. |
