<p>PURPOSE:To extend a recordable range to its maximum in accordance with the classification of a tape by detecting the classification and the temperature of the tape and changing a temperature detection level, where a device is stopped, in accordance with the classification of the tape. CONSTITUTION:In case of an MP tape, an ignition hole Hl is not formed in a position corresponding to a discriminating switch S1 on a cassette Ct, and therefore, the discriminating switch S1 is turned on, and a transistor (TR)Q2 is turned off, and the potential in the inverted input terminal of an operational amplifier Q1 is a prescribed value V1. In case of an ME tape, the hole Hl is formed in a position corresponding to the switch S1 on the cassette Ct, and therefore, the switch S1 is turned off, and the TRQ2 is turned on, and the potential in the inverted input terminal of the operational amplifier Q1 is a prescribed value V2. Meanwhile, a potential Vi of the non-inverted input terminal of the operational amplifier Q1 is raised according as the resistance value of a temperature sensor Rs is increased, and a detection output Vo of the operational amplifier Q1 is changed from the low level to the high level when the potential Vi exceeds said value V1 or V2. Consequently, the recordable range is extended to its maximum in accordance with the classification of the tape.</p> |
