POLYAMIDE RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain a composition with little impairment in the mechanical properties and dimensional change both caused by water absorption by homogeneously blending a polyamide resin and specified amount of specific modified polypropylene resin. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by blending (A) 50- 90wt% of a polyamide resin, pref. polyhexamethylene adipamide or polycaprolactam and (B) 10-50wt% of a modified polypropylene resin made up of (i) 60- 98wt% of a resin with a melt index falling between 0.1g/10min and 20g/10min prepared by grafting (a) <0.1wt% of an unsaturated carboxylic anhydride (derivative) (pref. maleic anhydride), in the presence of radical generator, to (b) polypropylene resin, (ii) 2-40wt% of a second resin with a melt index 20- 1,500g/10min prepared by grafting (c) 0.1-2wt% of an unsaturated carboxylic anhydride (derivative) in a similar manner as for the component (i). The blending process is preferably as follows; the two components (i) and (ii) are kneaded under a molten state followed by kneading with the component (A).
