PURPOSE:To enhance image density by using a developer composed of a toner using a binder of a styrene type resin contg. a fine silica powder, and a carrier, etc., having a coating layer made of a vinylidene fluoride/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer or the like on the surface. CONSTITUTION:A toner is obtained by incorporating a colorant in a binder of a styrene type resin, mixing them in a ball mill or the like, executing each step of kneading, pulverizing, and classifying to form toner particles, and adding a fine hydrophobic silica powder to them. A carrier is obtained by forming on the surface of a core material a coating layer made of a polymer blend of vinylidenefluoride/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer in a molar ratio of 75:25-95:5 and a polymer compatible with said copolymer, and said toner is mixed with this carrier, preferably, in a weight ratio of (0.3-20):100 to obtain the developer of an electrostatic charge image. |
