PURPOSE:To prevent an engine from stalling in time of starting or the like with certainty, by connecting a brushless motor directly to an engine output shaft, while driving the said motor automatically when an engine is in a state of being stalled, despite during engine rotation. CONSTITUTION:This starter is made up of installing an engine speed sensor, a water temperature sensor and a discriminator circuit where each output signal out of these sensors is inputted in, and provided with a stall state detecting device 31 discriminating to be in a state of being stalled when an actual engine speed is below a stall speed of rotation to be set according to cooling water temperature. An output signal of this detecting device 31 is inputted into a starting signal generating device 35 together with an output signal out of a starting operation detecting device 36, and a starting signal is outputted, in time of starting operation detection, when the engine is discriminated that it is in a state of being stalled. And, in time of generation of this starting signal, a brushless motor 26 being directly connected to an engine output shaft is driven via a conduction control device 38, thus an engine stall is made so as to be obviated. |
