PURPOSE:To secure excellent anti-rolling properties by having the engagement in a reproduction or record mode between a friction gear and the gear part of a take-up reel and obtaining coincidence between the quantity of inertia produced by revolutions of a motor and that produced by revolution of a large gear. CONSTITUTION:The output shaft of a motor 46 serves as a capstan shaft 15 to form so-called direct drive constitution. The shaft 15 contains a capstan gear 47, and this gear 47 always engages a front large gear 33. Here coincidence is obtained between the quantity of inertia produced by a motor 46 and that produced by the gear 33. This secures the excellent anti-rolling properties with simple constitution for a magnetic recording/reproducing device.
