PURPOSE:To enable to obtain excellent image stability, by using a specified triphenolic compound as a color developer for a leuco dye in a thermal recording material. CONSTITUTION:An ordinary lactone based on triphenylmethane, an ordinary fluoran or the like is used as a colorless or light-colored color forming leuco dye. A triphenolic compound such as one of the formula, wherein R is a 1-8C hydrocarbon group, is used as the color developer. These are used singly or in combination of two or more. The thermal recording material is produced by applying a coating liquid for forming a thermal recording layer to an appropriate base such as a paper, a synthetic paper and a plastic film, followed by drying. The thermal recording sheet thus obtained provides stable images. |
