PURPOSE:To attain automatically an error correction of light pen processing by displaying a reference position on a screen as a spot, calculating and storing an error between a read address of the reference position and an address of the reference position to correct the address. CONSTITUTION:A reference position signal generating means 7 generates a reference position signal displaying a reference position (x0, y0) on a screen 4a of a display device 4, this reference position signal is given to the display 4 through a switch 10, a display controller 2 and a repeater 3 to display the center of the screen 4a as a spot. In placing the light pen 5 onto the reference position, the light pen fetches the address (x1, y1). A correction value calculating and storage means 8 compares the reference position signal and the 1st light pen signal from an input buffer section 8a, calculates a correction signal (X=x1-x0, Y=y1-y0) based on the difference of both the signals and stores (8c). An address correcting means 9 applies the correction of the stored correction signal (X, Y) to the 2nd light pen signal (xn, yn) inputted from the light pen 5 to provide a display position signal to the controller 2.
