PURPOSE:To make it possible to effectively purify exhaust gas, by controlling the supply of pressurized gas into a working chamber and the supply of secondary gas into an exhaust passage in accordance with the operating condition of an engine. CONSTITUTION:A check valve 13, a solenoid valve 14 and a pressure regulating device 15 are disposed in the mentioned order from the engine side, in an air communication passage 12 communicating with a pressurized gas supply passage 11, and an air pump 16 is connected to the passage 12. Meanwhile, a thermal reactor 18 is connected to an exhaust port 5, by being attached to the peripheral wall 2a of a rotor housing, and as well is connected to an exhaust pipe 19 to which an exhaust purifying device 20 composed of a catalyst. The exhaust port 5 is connected with a shut-off valve 25 between a secondary gas supply passage 22 and a secondary air pump 2. A control unit 26 controls the solenoid valve 14 and the shut-off valve 25. The operating condition of the engine is countermeasured by the pressurized gas supplying means, the secondary gas supplying means and the supply controlling means. |
