PURPOSE:To prevent any positional shift of attachment lugs by providing each of them with clampers which are located outside the upper and the lower surfaces of a steel belt and clamping and fixing the superimposed areas of the steel belt by means of the clampers of one of the attachment lugs. CONSTITUTION:Each attachment lug 5 has clampers 5a which are located outside the upper and the lower side surfaces of a wound steel belt 3 and extend over the upper surface of the steel belt 3. The clampers 5a can be easily formed during pressure formation of the lug 5. After the attachment lug 5 is placed at each of the four corners of the panel of a cathode-ray tube, the steel belt 3 is passed through the clampers 5a of the attachment lugs 5 before tension is applied to the steel belt 3. Next, the ends of the steel belt 3 are placed one upon another on one of the attachment lugs 5. After that, mechanical pressure is applied to the upper surfaces of the clampers 5a of the above attachment lug 5 to press the clampers 5a, thereby clamping the steel belt 3. |
