PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of a ground surface by using a diamond grindstone having a specified thin width. CONSTITUTION:A diamond grindstone 4 formed with a thin width of 0.5-3.4mm. is fixed into an annular groove formed onto the cylindrical top surface 2 of a cylindrical cup wheel 1, with the grindstone surface projected a little. Thus, the abrasion degree of the grindstone 4 can be reduced markedly, and the continuous grinding work is permitted, and the surface of a workpiece can be easily mirror-face-finished.
