PURPOSE:To obtain the SmCo hard magnetic film having excellent oxidation resistance and magnetic characteristics by carrying out the process including those from formation of hard magnetic film and deposition of an oxidation resistant film. CONSTITUTION:The propylene carbonate, dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethyl holmamide, dimethyl acetamide including samarium nitrate and cobalt nitrate having mole ratio of Sm/Co of 2-15 are prepared as the metal component. These solutions including a kind or more of them are used as electrolyte and an SmCo hard magnetic film is formed on the copper cathode of which surface is ground by electrolysis. Thereafter, the electrolysis is carried out in the same electrolyte with a current density of 1.5A/cm<2> or less and thereby a film including 80% or more of Co is formed on the surface of hard magnetic film. According to such constitution, the magnetic characteristics of magnetic film is improved and characteristics are not deteriorated even in the heating test of 200 deg.C.
