PURPOSE:To contrive the enhancement of insulating reliability and quality control, by providing a pair of narrow band tuning measuring instrument having different central frequencies in parallel, and comparing and detecting the peak value of a shaped output pulse to display the property of discharge in a discriminated and divided state. CONSTITUTION:A first narrow band tuning measuring instrument, which has central frequency in a low frequency region D where the relative intensities of frequency components of an in-oil discharge pulse and a void discharge pulse are almost coincidented in the ratio thereof, and a second narrow tuning measuring instrument which has central frequency in a high frequency region E where relative intensity ratios are different, are connected to machinery to be tested in parallel. After AC high voltage is applied and input pulses from both measuring parts are shaped, judgement is performed on the basis of the magnitude to a predetermined level by a discriminator circuit and a control signal is generated from the discriminator circuit to display in-oil discharge and void discharge in a divided state. By this method, the enhancement of insulating reliability or quality control is enabled.
