PURPOSE:To measure a variable density image and to measure the gap between rod bodies automatically by using an image data processor which averages video data among plural television scanning lines and an arithmetic processor which calculates the gap between the rod bodies on the basis of the data. CONSTITUTION:The waveform of a video signal is shaped digitally by a spatial filter 24, and averaged by an averaging unit 25 among plural television scanning lines. the spatial filter 24 and averaging unit 25 constitute the video data proessor. Then, the image data is stored in a video memory 26 and a microcomputer 27 calculates the target gap between fuel rods on the basis of said data to decide on abnormality. A memory 28 is the memory as a program table working buffer for the microcomputer 27. The microcomputer 27 and the memory 28 constitute the arithmetic processor. |
