PURPOSE:An X-ray image conversion plate having chemical stability especially to water, eliminating easily previous images, having high luminance and heat emitting properties, having a fluorescent substance layer consisting of a specific substance. CONSTITUTION:The desired X-ray conversion plate having a fluorescent substance layer consisting of a substance shown by the formula R2O2:aPr [R is Y, La, Gd; a is 10<-6=a<=10<-1> (preferably 10<-5=a<=10<-3>)]. The substance is obtained by blending sufficiently a raw material mixture such as yttrium oxide, sulfur, etc., calcining it in a closed crucible at 1,150 deg.C for 3hr, washing it with deionized water, washing it with an acid, eashing it with water, and filtering it.
