PURPOSE:To prevent base material from dissolving and contrive to avoid developing insoluble blue water or slightly opaque precipitate by a method wherein metallic sacrificial anode, the ionization tendency of which is larger than that of the base material of a heat exchanger, is connected to the exchanger and at the same time the anode is covered by a heat- and water- resisting aggregate with a slit. CONSTITUTION:For an example of application, a copper or copper alloy heat exchanger 3 and a sacrificial anode 10, the ionization tendency of which is larger than that of copper, are electrically connected with each other through a lead wire 11 and a metallic body 11'. In addition, the sacrificial anode 10 is covered by a heat- and water-resisting aggregate 13 with a slit 12. Accordingly, the dissolution of the base material metal of the heat exchanger 3 is suppressed and even the dissolution of the sacrificial anode metal is done by the movement of its metal ions only through the slit 12 of the aggregate 13, resulting in suppressing the diffusion of the metal ions. Further, because the anode 10 is covered by the aggregate 13 with the slit 12, the precipitate developed by the dissolution of the sacrificial anode metal accumulates on the inner surface of the aggregate 13, resulting in suppressing its accumulation in a hot water storage tank or feed water piping. Thus, no development of blue water due to the adhesion of insoluble substance or of slightly opaque precipitate, which is apt to develop in aluminum heat exchanger.
|
