PURPOSE:To make operation on an impact absorbing mechanism ever so sure, by making a fitting member and a bracket so as to be easily selectable from each other even if a driver bumps against a steering wheel from the slant. CONSTITUTION:A column bracket 21 is situated in a position being more upward than that of a steering column 18 and provided with a pair of flat plate parts 22 extended over in parallel with an axis of the steering column 18. A V-shaped notched groove 23 is formed in each flat plate part 22. A slide block 26 is fitted in the notched groove 23 free of separation rearward from the column bracket 21. And, synthetic resin is filled up in each of through holes 24 and 29 situated on the same axis with each other, locking the side block 26 and these flat plate parts 22. A bolt 34 being screwed in a stay 32 is inserted into a long hole 30 formed in the slide block 26 which, in turn, supports the column bracket 21. |
