<p>The clamping mechanism employs an open groove in the surface of the cylinder containing a fixing device for holding the opposite ends (PA,PB), the printing plate which are both fitted into the groove. The fixing device employs a single clamp rail (17) for both printing plate ends (PA,P'B), having a longer width in the radial direction of the cylinder (1) than in the peripheral direction ad pivoted about an axis parallel to the cylinder axis. - One side of the groove incorporates a biasing device (15,16) acting on the clamp rail (17) and a clamp piece (19) is fitted between the opposite side of the groove and the clamp rail. This defines two radial slits for securing the printing plate ends (PA,P'B) when the clamp rail is pivoted by the applied bias.</p> |
