<p>PURPOSE:To provide increased duty, reduced size and thickness and improved visibility and to prevent generation of a defective display by providing preliminarily a coating layer consisting essentially of polyimide on a substrate surface. CONSTITUTION:An MIM display element consisting of a metal-insulator-metal is formed on a plastic substrate. A coating layer consisting essentially of polyimide is preliminarily disposed to the plastic substrate. The polyimide which can be calcined at <=300 deg.C is used. The display capacity is increased by disposition of the MIM element on the substrate and the device is made usable as a display device having high duty. Since plastic is used as the substrate, the reduction in size and thickness is easy and since the element is formed via the polyimide coating layer, the operation of the device is made stable and the generation of a defective display is obviated.</p> |
