The invention relates to an interjoist element made of moulded expanded polystyrene, laid between two beams or floor joists and filling the space between them, comprising rebates for the supports on the joists and possibly a beam covering tongue. It comprises, internally, a rigid section 1, on the one hand, reinforcing the mechanical strength, and on the other hand, enabling, by simple direct screwing, the fixing at the floor soffit of the selected facing element.
