PURPOSE:To increase the effect of preheating within a limited input electric power range sufficiently, prolong the life of a flash discharge lamp and save energy, and perform fixation without irregularity by preheating paper and toner with an incandescent lamp, and then performing the fixation almost at the peak of the flash discharge lamp which emits a pulse flash and then cutting off discharging. CONSTITUTION:Paper W conveyed by a conveyor 13 while having fixed toner is preheated firstly with the incandescent lamp 11 powered on by an AC power source 1 and carried to under the flash discharge mp 11. The flash discharge lamp 7 is turned on through a trigger circuit 8, timer circuit 10, and pulse cutting circuit 100 and the fixation is carried out almost at its peak of light emission; and discharging is stopped through the time circuit 10 and pulse cutting circuit 100 when the light emission exceeds the peak and residual charges are held in a capacitor 5 for main discharging. Consequently, the sufficient effect of the preheating this the limited range of input electric power is obtained, the life of the flash discharge lamp is prolonged and energy is saved, and the fixation is carried out without irregularity. |
