The tubular slideway for transporting people and goods, alternatively also as pneumatic post. In the actual system which runs through under the stations, there is a permanent air stream which corresponds to the travel speed. Very lightweight vehicles slide here on air starting from a specific speed, heavier or slower vehicles slide additionally on a small layer of water on the ground. Ideally, the stations are located at such a height above the actual travel tube or the travel tubes are located at such a depth below the stations that the travel speed is reached in the steep descent tube when entering into the main tube. However, other alternatives have also been devised. The main tube and stations can also be located on the same level. The guidance of the main tubes is variable in respect to their height. Outside built-up areas, the travel tubes can be again laid directly below or above the surface of the ground. <IMAGE>
